“ADHD in Full Bloom” reflects the potential of individuals with ADHD to grow and thrive when supported by sound science, cultural understanding, and meaningful connection. The Protea symbolises resilience, diversity, and transformation—recognising that, like the flower, every ADHD journey is unique and can flourish under the right conditions.

The Protea represents the unique South African setting of the 2027 World Congress on ADHD and provides a powerful metaphor for the diversity of ADHD. Like the Cape fynbos ecosystem, the global ADHD community encompasses many different experiences, cultures, strengths and support needs. The Protea symbolises resilience, transformation and the capacity to flourish when the right conditions are created. As this will be the first World Congress on ADHD held in Africa, the rising Protea also represents African science, perspectives and lived experience taking their place on the international stage. The visual identity therefore captures a Congress that is rooted in Africa, global in its reach and committed to helping every mind flourish.

Hosting the World Congress on ADHD in South Africa brings the global ADHD community to Africa and places the realities of low- and middle-income countries firmly on the international agenda. It creates an opportunity to amplify African research and lived experience, strengthen regional clinical and research capacity, and promote more culturally responsive, equitable and accessible ADHD care across diverse and underserved communities.
