Andreas Warnke
Congress President

Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the Scientific and Organising Committee, we take pleasure in inviting you to the 3rd International Congress on ADHD – From childhood to adult disease, which will be held in Berlin, Germany, 26-29 May 2011.

The 1st Congress in Würzburg was the first international meeting solely dedicated to this exciting topic. The 2nd Congress in Vienna was again a big success and step forward gathering outstanding scientists on ADHD from all five continents as well as more than 1.800 participants from 70 countries. Under the direction of the World Federation of ADHD, which was founded recently in Zurich, Switzerland, this congress has been a key meeting for acquiring the most recent and authoritative information on the developmental psychopathology, etiology, pathophysiology and treatment of ADHD and allied disorders.

This congress aims to promote our understanding of ADHD as a multidimensional developmental psychopathology, as a disorder of the lifespan with a complex aetiology. The topics of the congress include all the aspects of neurobiological, psychological, and social correlates of ADHD, transcultural and gender influences as well as age dependent co-morbidity. By bringing together clinical psychiatrists, psychotherapists, neuroscientists and allied health care professionals, the Congress promotes exchange of basic and clinical science ideas in an effort to improve outcomes for patients.

An excellent collection of scientific sessions will be prepared based on suggestions of the members of the international Scientific Program Committee: interactive educational seminars, plenary lectures with rewarded experts, hot topic symposia, video sessions and guided poster tours. Young scientists are especially encouraged to present their recent finding in Young Scientist Sessions and thus benefit from the congress. Please approach this congress homepage from time to time in order to stay up to date.

Berlin is ideally suited to provide an atmosphere of true international spirit as the city has learned to deal successfully with the diversities of systems and the coexistence of different cultures. Today, the German capital is a modern, lively, vibrant, fascinating city in the centre of Europe with historic, cultural, scientific, and modern achievements, a city you will enjoy to visit!

We look forward to welcoming you to Berlin in May 2011.

Sincerely yours
